Kata, kumite and kobudo were the order of the day at the Urasoe Karatedo Federation's 10th Anniversary celebrations, held in Urasoe City, Okinawa.
The Kodokan Taira dojo demonstration team, consisting of New Zealanders Shihan Kevin Plaisted,Tim Herlihy,Megan Arden and Paul Williams proudly displayed Matsubayashi Ryu kata, Fukyugata ichi,Pinan shodan and Wankan along with Kancho Taira's individual performance of Chatan yara no kusanku.
Many Okinawan Ryuha were represented at the celebrations with exceptional stand out performances by world kata champions Atsuko Wakai and Asuza Tomoshiro.
